Citric Acid
Citric acid which can be used for: cleaning, cooking, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or as a pH regulator.
Food grade citric acid is a weak natural acid with potential descaling properties and a rust removing action. A very useful household product particularly due to its limescale removing properties.
Ideas for use:
General household cleaner: Dissolve 40g of Citric Acid in 500ml water & put in a trigger spray bottle as an acid-based cleaner (like white vinegar).
Descaling. Dilute 1 or 2 tablespoons of Citric Acid in 1L of cold water and use this solution to descale coffee machines, kettles, cups, taps, shower heads and more. Rinse with clear water afterwards.
Dishwashers: Fill the detergent tablet container with Citric Acid, add 200g to the base of the empty machine. Then run the machine on a normal wash programme.
Washing machine: put 6 to 8 tablespoons of Citric Acid powder in the drum and run the empty machine at 60 to 90°C.
Toilet bowl cleaner: pour half the bag into your toilet and leave overnight.
